Fiji is ideally situated in the southern hemisphere of
the South Pacific ocean. With its tropical environment, Fiji offers warm climate fantastic sunshine throughout year. It lies
on the 180 degrees Meridian, where the dawning of each new day occurs. Approximately 330 islands make the Fiji group of
islands, with a total land area of approximately 18,272 square kilometers. Less than 100 of the 330 islands are inhabited. The
other islands are natural reserves.

East -178 Degrees West. The two major islands in the group are Viti Levu, the main island, and Vanua Levu, the largest

Customs & Baggage Handling – Fiji TravelFiji Customs operates a Dual Channel System RED and GREEN
Channels. This system serves for expeditious clearance for air travelers, as well as arriving luggage, parcels and packages.
If you have any prohibited, restricted or commercial goods, or dutiable goods exceeding your duty/VAT free concessions, you
must seek customs clearance and proceed through the RED line.
If you do not have any prohibited, restricted or
commercial goods, or dutiable goods that exceed the allowable Duty/VAT concessions, you may proceed through the GREEN line.
Note: As may occur in any other country, your baggage may be examined by Fiji Customs authorities at any time.
If they wish to check your baggage, you will be required to open and repack your baggage.
Dutiable Goods –
Fiji Travel Fiscal duty and VAT taxes are levied on all goods in excess of allowable concessions. Fiscal duty rates vary
depending on the goods, whereas VAT is uniformly applied at the rate of 12.5 percent. VAT is applied on a basis that includes
the value of the goods, plus any fiscal duty payable. However, there are also duty-free shops located within the International
airport in Nadi. There, you may buy duty-free goods when entering or leaving the country.
