Places to Hike in Fiji

For the avid hiker, Fiji offers an adventurous paradise in many ways. For starters, trekking through thick rainforest canopies may be very different from the hiking you're generally used to, add to that a tropical setting that is full of wildlife, rare plant and animal species as well as secluded beaches and you have more than enough ground to cover while you enjoy your Fiji vacation.

Choosing Where To Hike In Fiji

If you're unfamiliar, much of the land mass that makes up the archipelago of Fiji is sparsely inhabited. Even the two main islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu are vastly made up of rural living, which makes trekking anywhere in the island nation a true adventure. The two largest islands are simply a small representation of the more than 300 islands that make up Fiji. Add to those 300 another 500 islets, and you quickly realize that you could live the rest of your life here and not explore everything that Fijian hiking has to offer.

The two largest islands offer the most beaten paths for hikers, and depending on your ability, that may be what you're hoping for. You can also find guided tours and treks into the rainforests that will leave you with a sense of awe, but without the adrenalin pumping, life threatening situations. That being said, if you have the heart of a true explorer, surely you know what it takes to be prepared, and you can find such hiking adventure throughout Fiji.

Hiking Adventures Offered Through Resort Properties
